It's Time
Hello everyone and happy new year!
It's been 2 months since my last post and in that time period, it hadn't been too great with where I am. I've been living in a unit in Pakenham for 2 years but it hadn't been too good in the end having to spend most time in isolation and then realising it's not a great place to meet new people. Plus, I'm having to do some decent travelling to and from work and Fountain Gate and even Melbourne. There aren't many activities and any kind of culture which I found out can bring people together and lighten up society.
But other than that, I have greatly developed and it's a decent step up from where I was regionally in Neerim South. I've been able to use Pakenham's bus services which is convenient if you don't have a car or yours is out of action. I've had great take away through ordering Uber Eats. I can honestly rave about YOMG's Winner Winner Chicken burger which to me is one ultimate chicken burger and once you eat that, you may think why you would bother going to McDonald's or Hungry Jacks. KFC is fine by me.
I've been able to click with more people than in Gippsland which has been pleasing but on top of that, it's been a good starting point.
So I've moved into this unit back in December 2021. It's also been a big learning curve with all the independent living but I've pulled through eventually.
And as you can see, I have built up a home for myself over the years. But then, I got to bigger hardships and I've been working twice a week and then having to do some Uber delivery driving to take up days I'm not working. With it, I'm having to pay off my car loan and then I'm still struggling to make friends and being isolated in Pakenham hadn't helped at all so then towards the end of November, I have decided to call it quits with my independent living as it's too much for me given the circumstances.
So then, I started packing up.
Here, I've packed up in the garage.
And used my stash chest to put away tools and some DIY equipment.
And then, my paintings are off the walls.
And while I'm there, I have accumulated some cans and bottles as the Victorian Government has launched a container to cash deposit scheme to encourage recycling, you'll get 10 cents refunded when you deposit cans and bottles into depots as long as they're eligible.
So with this haulage, I've got $2.20 AUD for them and that bit's done and dusted. And then, the rest continues.
At the start of December, I've taken boxes from work where I can put in my belongings.
Meanwhile, I went on to the Flatmates website where anyone goes searching for rooms to rent, or anyone wanting to advertise their vacant rooms to rent and for flatmates. I've messaged a handful of people offering rooms to rent, 2 replied and have looked at their rooms. Later, I've accepted one but it'll have to be a 28 day waiting period as I'll need to give my then real estate agent this kind of notice. So then, I've secured a room in a house in Berwick.
And throughout the time, I've been packing and tidying the unit up as I go.
And on the next week, I felt better about myself since I've started my move after what I've been through in 2023. At least when I'll be in the room where I intend to move to, I wouldn't have to pay utility bills with the cheaper rent and I felt myself it'll be nice to take a break from independent living.
To January being the start of 2023, I've been packing and tidying up and then started renting a storage unit where I can store all my furniture, fridge and washing machine along with some other belongings.
It's unfortunate I wasn't able to initiate flipping cars as my financial situations make this ambition not ideal and then I came across the issue with my trolley jack which apparently is a low profile type. I tested it on my car but couldn't go any higher. Being a low profile trolley jack, they're suitable for lowered cars. Any supercar, no problem but for a Ford Puma like mine, not ideal.
And as I've been moving out of my rental and into the sharehouse in Berwick, it's a huge process taking 2 days to move all my belongings back and fourth and doing the last of the cleaning but in the end, I'm all good again. The weight is all off my shoulders.
It is sad that I had to leave my rental as I've worked hard to keep a roof over my head but then, I've achieved a lot over the years. Compared to my lifestyle in Gippsland, I'm happy to say that's nothing and I'm pleased to know there are things I have done which have nothing to do with sport which the regional area is big on. And in the meantime, I'll be making up the time to rebuild my savings account and still keep building up my life.
And before I conclude this post, I felt like sharing this bit in Final Fantasy X which is relatable about any hard moments we go through but we all need to be positive and fight on. This might get awkward though.
See you next time!
