Salvage time?

 Hello again.

Just an update, 2 of the lawn mowers have been sold and I now have another lawn mower which turned out to be a big project to date but there'll be more on the next post. Before this morning, I was looking for cheap lawn mowers on the Facebook Marketplace with 2 interested but apparently sold. I came across one lawn mower that is definitely broken.

I thought to myself I could buy one of these mowers to strip and sell the parts. Another aspect of working on cars as a financial booster. So there's one at Carrum Downs, I went there this morning, gave it a start and my god it vibrates horrendously. To make things bad, the front wheels are broken off but I bought it for $30 AUD and took it home.

As I was working on the lawn mower to fix up and sell, I thought I'll give this broken lawn mower a crack. I've used the broken wheels as stands. That way, there's clearance so the blades wouldn't scrape the concrete floor. I started it but it vibrated horrendously again so then, I thought to myself I will not touch it again as it's dangerous. I mean I could get seriously injured and end up having to call an ambulance worst case scenario.

But anyway, I'd like to get rid of it. I could take this mower to my local metal recyclers or someone who buys and sells lawn mowers. I've spoken to a salesman over the phone, I told him about the lawn mower but one damning thing he mentioned the lower bearing for the engine is shot.

So what does that mean? I will not be willing to tear it apart to sell parts as I don't feel comfortable selling any of the parts at all. I'll just get rid of it and hope I would get the money back. This'll be the end of the life of this lawn mower as we know it.

Rest in peace.
